Grief: Deep Sorrow

To grieve is to know what it feels like to give someone so much love, you cannot bear to be without them. Losing someone is hard on everyone, pets and humans alike, so give yourself some grace and time to heal.

Our employees love to hear stories about your pets. We urge clients to talk to us and share some of your favorite memories of them. You can email us a picture and obituary, and we will upload it to our website.

Fur-Ever Pet Loss Support

By Dawn Bush

My name is Dawn Bush, and my life’s work has been shaped by the incredible bond between people and their animals. With over 20 years of experience in the local veterinary community, I have stood beside pets and their families who love them through every stage of life-including the most difficult moments of all. I have participated in and supported thousands of end-of-life decisions and euthanasia procedures, gaining a deep understanding of the emotional complexity surrounding pet loss. Over the years, I saw how often pet guardians felt alone in their grief or unsure where to turn for understanding and support. I knew there needed to be a space where pet guardians could speak openly about their grief and feel truly heard. This has led me to create Fur-Ever Pet Loss Support, where I offer compassionate guidance to those navigating anticipatory grief, euthanasia decisions, behavioral euthanasia, rehoming and life after the loss of a cherished pet. As a Certified Pet Loss Specialist through Pet Loss Partners, I am committed to providing a safe, empathetic, and judgement-free space for people to process their grief and honor the special bond shared with their animals. My goal is simply to walk beside people through that journey, offering understanding, compassion, and the reassurance that their grief matters because their love was real.
